Digital Storytelling Training for WP7 partners on February 6, 2024
WP7 leaders Susan Rottmann and Maissam Nimer, Ozyegin University organized a Digital Storytelling Training on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 in coordination with Sopia Burton, cofounder of Migration Matters, a partner in the consortium.
Each country team conducting research in WP7 will provide audio and visual material that can be turned into 2 short (1-3 minutes) online digital stories about return trajectories.
A variety of formats may be possible. Migrants can film themselves speaking directly to the viewer about their perspective, present photos (of people, places, objects) or share recordings of interviews or conversations. It is possible to make the videos anonymous by blurring faces or avoiding real voices, and after obtaining consent.
The training session, delivered in coordination between Ozyegin Unviersity and Migration Matters, covered:
Details about what digital storytelling is
Why storytelling is used
Examples of digital stories
Logistics involved in planning and implementing
How to prepare a storyboard
Challenges and tips
This is a participatory action research methodology and an important part of our dissemination strategy.
