GAPs project consortium partner Dr. Rasha Istaiteyeh (Hashemite University) receives the RAWABIT-Fulbright Partnership Development Grant Award
Dr. Rasha Istaiteyeh, partner within the GAPs project consortium, received the RAWABIT-Fulbright Partnership Development Grant Award. The RAWABIT Program is an independent program funded by the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs (NEA/AC) of the U.S. Department of State.
Her research project aims to build a curriculum to train refugees as mental health workers. The project will be implemented in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Wael Al-Delaimy Professor of Public Health at the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science at the University of California, San Diego.
This interdisciplinary study seeks to bolster human capital of refugees, address their mental challenges and promote their integration into the workforce, with the ultimate goal of aiding their eventual return to Syria in a stable and prosperous condition.
